If you don't mind a sticky mess, you can just make the sugar syrup, toss it with popcorn, add some bacon pieces, and enjoy. The baking step in the recipe is to set the sugar sauce.

This is all theoretical, it's not like I tried it myself or anything. 

edit: Haha, to clarify I have made the recipe I posted. I was being funny about cutting corners. Which, of course, I would never do.

California goes full eligible tomorrow, should be interesting checking the appointment sites tomorrow. Right now, I'm inclined to wait for an appointment rather than drive a ridiculous distance to get a shot faster.
