Well, if he hadn't needed to go to the hospital the Leafs taking out their own goalie could have been funny ****.

Who's the backup?  The Sens' Zanboni driver?

Oh! I forgot about the EBUG aspect of the whole thing.

- 2026-27 Rule Changes: Starting in the 2026-27 season, the EBUG program is changing, requiring teams to have a full-time, traveling replacement instead of a local, arena-specific amateur, as reported by TSN.
- Eligibility Requirements: Under new rules, these emergency goalies cannot have more than 80 games of professional experience and cannot have been in pro hockey for the previous three seasons, according to Sportsnet.

So they literally have to pay someone's travel cost for them to do mostly nothing?

I suppose it could be an equipment manager, trainer, water boy or someone else already travelling with the team.  I see a Happy Gilmore 3 movie in the works.  lol

That seems like that would be the "ideal" situation. Because paying someone to *only* be a pseudo roster spot is just weird.

It seems to me that it would make more sense for each team to have a full time replacement at each game. Would save travel costs.

I think Stoll could have gotten a penalty for kiking that broken twig towards the play. He could have swept it into the net.
