I’m watching NHL Network and a Buffalo player makes a dangerous hit on a player into the boards and they say “we want to take those hit out of the game” yet the powers to be won’t do anything about taking those hits outta the game.

Yes, first 2/3rd in French and the last 1/3 in English. Usually they song the middle in French.

Official it may be Bell talks day, but the theme is definitely 'cater to French Canadians'.
That kinda sounds like a silly policy the Ducks had waaaay back when. I can't remember the specifics but they wouldn't play a certain song or do a certain call-and-answer chant because they didn't want the road team to be offended. And it was literally a song or cheer that dozens of other teams do in their own buildings.
