Oh, update on the fireworks…continued to ramp up, finally fell asleep around 10, startled awake at midnight by the sounds of a small war zone (keeping in mind that fireworks are illegal in the city limits), smoke still hanging in the air this morning. 

Upside, doggie didn't care at all. (But she thought the midnight bangs were somehow a "time to wake up and go about the day" alarm. Had difficulty getting *her* back to sleep.)
