A special version of the national anthem for Indigenous Peoples Night seems…odd. Unless it includes a string of apologies.
How is it odd? It's just the national anthem sung in a different language...
It feels a bit like "sing the anthem of the country that stole your lands and destroyed your culture in your own language and we're good, yeah?"
I think an actual tribal-originated song would have been better.
The amount of game activity that took place while typing this is a bit crazy.
<shrug> I think maybe there are some major differences in the relationship between our countries and the relationships with our Indigenous populations. There is some heavy **** in our past too, but it's a pretty common thing. Nobody is forcing them to come in and sing our anthem....
