Bronze for Oleksiak!

Ties the record as most decorated Canadian Olympic athlete of all time.

and she still has three other races to compete in with a solid chance in them especially the relays.

100m freestyle

4x200 freestyle relay

4x100m medley relay

And she's only 21.  No reason to think she won't be back at the next Olympics.

Yeah, she may have two left in her. 3 and 7 years away so competing at 28 isn't out of the question.

Summer McIntosh at 14 is putting everyone on notice.  "I'm only getting my feet wet. Lookout!". Three more Olympics and she'll be 25.  That's nuts.

Sucks about Simone Biles. So much pressure for her to compete and something is messing with her mind and confidence.  She's in a sport where a mistake can lead to a serious injury.

Yeah - kudos to her for recognizing what was going on and pulling herself from the competition though.  That must have been a crazily hard decision.

 Woot!!!

I don't pay much attention to swimming...are you guys like a swimming powerhouse or something??

Our Canadian women are pretty good in the pool and still a young team. Penny Oleksiak and Maggie Mac Neil I think are both 21.

Summer McIntosh, just missed the Bronze finishing 4th in the 400m free style. She was in 3rd for most of the race, but the swimmer from China reeled her in in the final 100m.

McIntosh is only 14 and set another Canadian record. She's only going to get better.

 are you saying I'm old?

I'm saying *we* don't spend enough money for the IOC to pander to us.

And, yes, we are varying definitions of the word "old".

First Canadian medals once again go to the women in the pool - silver in the 4X100 women's relay, and silver in synchronized diving.

Penny Oleksiak crushed it on the anchor leg bringing the team from 4th to 2nd.

Probably won't be much live chats/posts, but post what you want about the games.

What are you looking forward to watching?

NBC is the only network with Olympic coverage in the US?

We have coverage on CBC, TSN and SportsNet. Sometimes two of them will show the same things, but usually something different.
