I didn't get to see this.. was it the old "Blue pass" "Red shoot"?
I hated that thing so much. They had that hilarious cbc/tsn/forget the network parody commercial about it.
They didn't have it on at the start of the game, only partly through 1st period. Might have had technical issues.
It was a black streak puck reached a certain speed, so when passing/shooting. No glowing puck. They also had a puck speed next to the score overlay at the top of the screen.
Still distracting during game play. Though I wouldn't mind it on replays so you could see deflections and "Oh man, how hard was that shot?"
They had full board rink overlay advertising.
Looks like all players had a transponder of some kind. During warm up, they had the player names overlay like in video games.
That is overkill and not needed, but that transponder can also give a player's speed which could be interesting in replays.
How fast what that player skating? How hard was that hit if it can calculate weight of players involved in the hit, their speeds and estimate force of hit. "Oh!, on a scale of one to 10, that was an 11"
those ads changing during the play was distracting, which i guess is what they want. dont like.
