Yeah, that was a weird situation
On top of that, player getting to 10 minutes had to go to the dressing room to get stitched up and another player had to serve the 10 minute penalty. It's not a man advantage penalty, and they lose two players. That's really messed up.
I know the IIHF has some weird rules, but that feels like a complete mess-up by the refs
Especially when the 10 minutes will carry over into the 2nd period. Make no sense at all to have need another player in the box.
In the NHL, they just send the player to the dressing room if lest than 10 minutes left in the period. I think the refs messed up.
