Sens haven't had much success with their college free agent signings in the past. Here are a few:

Bobby Butler
Stephane Da Costa
Andrew Hammond
Ludwig Karlsson
Matt O’Connor
Derek Smith
Cole Schneider
Andrew Sturtz
Garret Thompson
Jesse Winchester

Not many hits, eh?

Winchester had a couple of good seasons here. Solid 4th liner.

On a lighter note, has anyone tried one of those Bacon Mac n' Cheese Dogs at the CTC? Was it good?

we sure have had some stubborn coaches.

Boucher will join all the others who are all out of the NHL

Good thing for Russell the Islanders are doing well and Berry Trotz won't be coaching in Ottawa anytime soon.

I'm safe. They'd never pay a coach as much as he makes.

General Managing and Coaching matter, Isles gave up the most goals (even Ottawa) than anyone last season.  This year they are the stingiest.  That's the kinda culture that Pierre from Orleans or wherever he's from is telling us he's creating in Ottawa.

Jeez, even Craig Button getting in on the fun.
Dorian says today “we are fielding a team that can win games” and Button countered on Twitter, “Just not in the NHL”.

I wish I could have watched this but,

MacLean: "(The Sens) desperately need someone to run that operation. I don't mean fire Pierre (Dorion). They need someone that can handle Eugene Melnyk. This is making Harold Ballard look like -"

Burke interjects: "...a rational person"

SanJose intermission guys are wondering WTF the Senators are doing?? They don’t understand what’s happening? Should I call them and tell them there’s this guy called Melnyk?

Took a look at the standings,

Kings are on a 10 game losing streak vs the Sens 6.

Kings are still 5 points ahead of the Sens.  Even the mighty LA tank is no match for the Sens "Hold my beer" play and team management.

More Murray:

More storytelling... Doug MacLean says one time Bryan Murray got 7 calls from Eugene Melnyk from the time the game ended to the time he got to the dressing room, to fire Paul MacLean and Murray didn't fire him.

Thx Kat that was good, in case anyone wondered about Bryan Murray and the dolt of an owner here’s something.

Doug MacLean: "I used to listen to Bryan Murray when (Melnyk) was being unbelievably hard on Bryan and us (GMs). I wanted to go ballistic. Bryan was calm. He would listen. He would take the heat. And slowly work it back and calm the owner down... And then decisions were made."

I guess behind-the-scenes we don't know if he was openly complaining to Dorion or what not.

OMG, Boucher fired. Crawford takes over as interim head coach.

It probably came as a relief to him.
