Hornquist had so much time and space you'd think the Pens were on a 5 on 3 here

Here are the highlights of the 1st period, for the Ottawa Senators:

1) Ottawa outhit Pittsburgh 14-7

2) Ottawa won 71% of the faceoffs (12-5)

Bad news: both goals were scored against HoffZibbyRyan line.

So is this a bad time to mention that we had a Chinook today, and it was 14 degrees this afternoon?

it's -18, -30 wind chill...  what do you think?

and don't say it could be worse

You could be at the game tonight and walking through that parking lot.  So, it could be, you know.

Just in case, is there a mercy rule in place tonight?

Nope.    The NHL and NHLPA couldn't agree on a threshold for implementation of the mercy rule in the 2nd game of a back-to-back.  From the meeting minutes, having it in place for the team that didn't play the night before wasn't part of the discussions at all, so we'd be euchred even if they had agreed on a threshold as we're not the team that played last night.

Wow, that's like a dean brown answer.  Verbose!

It's not like Lehner is 8'4" and 400 lbs, there are going to be gaps that a skilled player can pick.
