SensKat would u have traded Spezza for James Neal straight up?

Good question.  Probably not.  Neal has had a couple of good seasons playing with Crosby, but he's not a proven scorer without a top centre, and trading away our best to get him would seem like too much of a risk to me.

But compare it to a season of Jason's play and nothing in return (or half a season + a 2nd rounder (max))... A deal for Neal wouldn't look to bad in that light (I don't know what Neal's contract situation is though).

Ceci and Lazar were at least very good 1st round picks the last 2 years especially where they were picking

Craig Custance ‏@CraigCustance
Bryan Murray says he was asking for first rounder in this draft in Spezza deal but interested teams never really circled back.

whoever doesn't sign Stastny has got to have a 4th line Center that Murray can steal from them

Vancouver did a great job today of making Anaheim and Tampa Bay better, their grand plan of finishing in last should be in place. They made Florida and NJ much better last year by placing their goalies with them already.

lol. Yeah. I'll try to check in tomorrow if anything interesting is happening, but since my friends totally don't get my hockey obsession, I have to act like I have a life for part of the day.

Hopefully Free Agency on Tuesday is more exciting than this draft has been so far...

right Kat, no reason to rush now,  this draft is over. 2015 draft is supposedly loaded so Murray now has plenty of time till Sept or October to move him
