Canadian women beat the US in soccer for 1st time in 20 years to advance to the gold medal game on Thursday night.

Sinclair is 38 and this is likely her last Olympics. Hope Captain Canada and the team can bring home the gold.

Now Friday-morning viewing. LOL-ing at it being too hot for CAN/SWE. I know it's because Japan is insanely hot this time of year, but there's a Northern latitude joke in there somewhere.

Congrats on the win! The coverage on this side of the border is a little icky, too much sense of entitlement and arrogance.

I haven't watched anything but gymnastics so far, the time I'd have it on in the background — during the workday — is apparently time in Japan.

GOLDEN Final for DeGrasse in the 200m.  He's fast down the final 75m.

anyone else notice the cold celebration of the women's 100m final by the Jamaicans who swept the podium? They really don't seem to like each other. I've seen competing athletes from different countries have warmer congratulations for each other.  It just seemed very odd.
