I don't know if I know the teams well enough to know who's thorny. But the period as a whole was definitely a rose bush.

 I was being funny.  Rare that you see a goal scored and off setting penalties at the same time. 

The one you're thinking about is penalty called to one team. play resumes and another penalty is called before the other one expires resulting in a 5 on 3 or 4 on 4 for remainder of 1st penalty.
