Last night, the Sens average roster age was 28.9 years.

This morning, it's 28.3.

And that's only because Chabot and Thomson are still listed as active!

Those numbers are straight from the Media Notes, I'm probably going to drop the roster into Excel later to figure out the average without those two.

Donovan and Yakemchuk are the youngest on the team by 2 and 3.5 YEARS.

This is either going to be really ****ing fun or really ****ing heartbreaking.

it really does feel like the universe is against the sens.

Would have been moderately better if they have figured this **** out 7 days earlier. evileye

r/hockey - [Johnston] The NHL has modified the penalty against the Ottawa Senators for the invalidated Evgenii Dadonov trade: The sens will now pick 32nd in the upcoming draft, regardless of where they finish, rather than forfeiting their 2026 first-round pick entirely

huh. interesting. My gut tells me  buttman told Andlauer about this before the draft but they kept it quiet until now so that it didn't look like he was doing him a favour.

it’s better than a poke in the eye I guess, 32nd overall rarely does dit unless it’s Pinto. I hate being on you guys’ eastern time for sports

Sens could use a couple of solid penalty killers.

Sens SV% is worst in NHL in 30 years.

I was in high school (barely) when there was a worse save percentage.

FYI, Americanos, -35C to -40C with wind chills tonight in Ottawa. In the parking lot at the CTC, that's about -105c.

watching Mark Stone Captain of the Las Vegas Golden Knights play great against Toronto and I wish Pierre Dorian had to sit out there naked in that parking lot for what he did to this team and still doing to this team his legacy of crap just goes on and on. he was so proud of the return he got for Mark Stone having the best season of his career even this late in his career and then he cost this team a first round draft pick this year. I still can’t believe the owner of the Senators didn’t go off more and demand money off the sale price something from the NHL for not disclosing that this could be on the horizon. If it was a house purchase he could have sued for non-disclosure.

Is it asking too much for this team to get through an entire season without some sort of controversy involving the goaltending? Sometimes I wonder if there isn’t a curse on our team.

Aside from the 10 years of Andy, who came to us via trade, the sens have never had any length of stable goaltending. Maybe lalime a little but that didn't end well. And they've never been able to develop a goalie of their own that lasted. over 30 years!

that's not good. thats below not good.

Daccord and Gustafsson in Seattle and Minnesota are doing OK w 2 clubs that are winning and they were drafted and discarded quickly by Sens.

The Buffalo Sabres are celebrating and bringing back the players from the 05-06 team, they are celebrating Daniel Alfredsson getting blown by for the winning goal vs Ottawa in 06 playoff ouster. Such a gut punch ending, they won’t be celebrating what he did to them the next season though….
