Kat, what do you think of the new Star Trek?

I'm still a bit undecided.  It's an interesting series in a way, but it's just not Star Trek to me.

And the subtitles for the Klingons are irritating me.

Agree on the subtitles.  Still wondering where it will go.  Like many tv shows these days, the season is more of a a continuing story which is a departure from previous series of individual episodes.

Maybe once all the characters/backstories are established it'll settle down.

Maybe, but I also feel like they are  screwing with too many things timeline-wise.  This is supposed to be 100 years before TOS... but the technology level doesn't match that.

Only about 10 years before TOS, ~100 after Enterprise. But yeah tech seems to be violating cannon.  Spore drive tech was never mentioned in any other series, but us a major focus point in this series.

And what the hell happened to the Klingons in TOS?
Worf: "We don't discuss it with outsiders" LOL

Star Trek: Enterprise (2151-2161)

Star Trek Discovery (2255)

Star Trek (2265-2269)

Star Trek: The Next Generation (2364-2370)

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (2369-2375)

Star Trek: Voyager (2371-2378)

oh right.

I assume the spore technology is going to be lost now, based on the last episode, so maybe we will see the starts of the more scientific mission.  I'm just not sure that I'm loving the series.

And I am not loving some of the characters, unfortunately.

Ok, hopefully they haven't used up all of their energy. High-paced, high-energy second period is just what the doctor ordered!

I know it's only been one period... but maybe Ryan and Duchene are actually going to have that chemistry that Ryan couldn't find with Spezza?

Early, but totally agree. They seem to click. Duchene is hungry for that first goal

 Murray Pam‏ @Pammerhockey

#Sens outshoot #Pens 10-8 in a fast-paced scoreless period. Matt Duchene responsible for half of Ottawa's shots.
