But oh well at least the NHL doesn't have a movie like Concussion out like the NFL so it's all good.

He never apologized to Boro, he's only sorry for missing out on the Winter Classic and their trying to make it sound like he's a class act.

“I think it speaks a lot for Brad for wanting to be out in front of this today, the impact it has on the team, the game and the fans,” said general manager Don Sweeney. “He asked us if he could address it in front of teammates before we went out for practice. It speaks to maturity. It says a lot and the impact he has on our lineup.”

plus he got 5 games the last time he low bridged a player so he actually got off lighter and he's a multiple time repeat offender. You'd think Boston of all teams would be sensitive to guys actually trying to hurt other players with what happened to Bergeron and Savard.  This guy is no better than Matt Cooke or Raffi Torres it's just that his hits haven't yet put someone out of the game (Savard)  or in the hospital for an extended time (Bergeron).  The NHL is not serious at all about stopping this stuff or they would have did it already.

remember what colin campbell said in that email that was leaked: " we sell hate".

To me it's pretty obvious we are all getting fed up with the defense on this years team and really not contending for a Cup since 2007. I like Bryan Murray but Pan has a point he has made numerous bad decisions on coach's and has paid a lot of cap money to guys who don't contribute to a team not willing to spend to the cap.
The last 2 games were just awful by a team that is expecting to compete for a playoff spot and it's totally frustrating. AO is right about mid season trades and of the 3 teams I follow ALL 3 need and want defensemen Van, SJ and Ottawa. Ottawa has 2 studs on the way in White and Chabot but that's the future and Pan rightfully wants the now because he does put his money on the line and pays to watch this and I think I'm being kind, mediocre mess on D.

Sorry, but I totally disagree with you guys on this one.  Yes, Bryan Murray is the GM.  No, I am not a GM, but my clients also challenge me & some think they can do a better job than I can.  It's just a fact as to how people feel about things.  I don't compare my abilities to my clients, I compare my abilities to colleagues in the same position & peers in the industry.  This comparison of GMs is fair and SHOULD BE DONE.

Murray has been in hockey for 40 years.  He hasn't won anything.  He is AT BEST a mediocre GM.  Ottawa may be more challenging based in regards to how much funding you can do.  That may or may not explain hiring of his last THREE head coaches who were first time NHL Head Coaches without other experience of which two ended in absolute flames & the current one is LUCKIER THAN HE IS GOOD

The Sens are 28th in shots for per game, 30th in shots against per game & the goal scoring is trending downwards as shooting percentage was high early.

Between Cowen & Greening, the Sens paid $5.5M in salary to not play tonight.  This, in my opinion, is unacceptable.  The healthy scratches in the playoffs way even more expensive.  You can't win them all, but you would think that the team would know not to extend big money to guys who just got points with Spezza.  He's made guys like Eaves, Bochenski & Greening lots of money that they didn't really deserve.

Saying that trades aren't done also doesn't pan out.  This summer, we got an additional 1st round pick.  Last year, we traded away Spezza for a player, pick and prospect.  The year before that, We traded for Ryan for a player, pick & prospect.  Why can't we do that again now for a top 4 defenceman from a bottom dwelling team?  Would that impact the roster tragically?  These trades happen every year, it's just the parity in the league that is slowing things down.  Not the cap.

Everyone can criticize the team, but you can do so knowing that there's more to the story that we don't know.  That doesn't mean that what the GM is doing or who the coach puts out is always the right move, but if you want to continue to be a Yes Man, go ahead.  And sorry for me wanting to see the team that I support want to improve while knowing that there are 29 other teams that are doing the same thing.

I see a common trend here:  all occurred in the off-season.  Midseason trades are not going to happen outside of the trade deadline because of the league parity and too many teams are tight on the cap.  Add in the simple fact that it's a seller's market now with only about 8 teams being out of it, limiting the available players to trade for of which most are utter crap.

I'll reply to the wall-of-text rant during our next episode, rather than here.  It'll be more fun that way.

Actually, I take that back. Let's just say they are uninformed and some what delusional. But it is a nice dream world they live in.

You had it right the first time -- I was watching and admiring your tenacity to continue to bang your head against the wall when it was clear that common sense wasn't common in that "conversation".

I'm surprised the "I've been a season ticket holder for many years" card didn't get played.

As a podcast host, you were passionate BUT RATIONAL.   Twitter gives people a pass on the latter it takes too many characters to convey.

Good rant. I'm done with it though. Everyone has their opinions and one thing i know is people rarely change them. As for being a yes man, I think the 7 years on the podcast stands as evidence against that for me.

One of them did use the season ticket card. And I can't say I stayed rational when tucker's name came up.

Oh, and thanks for jumping in and helping me out, brother!

I can remember a couple of goaltender debates that went "twitter".

Not sure I want to know the answer to this, but did people think I was completely out to lunch when we did the podcast?

if you were and I listed to every episode, should I be worried?

You should be past the infectious stage by now.
