The elevator arrived and the group of us got in. One of the reporters asked Smith if he works long days.
"Not really, about 10 or 12 hours," he said.
Sounds like a hockey writer.
Do you do a lot of waiting around, too?
"That's what us actors say," replied Smith, chuckling. "We act for free. We get paid for standing around."
Upon hearing this, Murray had an idea.
"I should get you to come and talk to my players," he quipped. "They only work three hours a day ... and sometimes not even that. They stand around a lot too."
Smith laughed, wished us a good night, and got off at his floor.
