Johnny Bower passed away today. One of the few lafs I actually liked.

Hahaha I guess they scheduled someone they thought the Leafs could potentially beat?

I'm working from home today and yet am not going to watch... if only Leafs were playing someone I mildly cared about.

Cannot remember the last time I watched a lafs game that did not involve the Sens.

Why is Carolina playing Toronto (in Toronto) tomorrow at 2pm eastern time? ....there isn't some weird Toronto/Ontario only holiday I'm not aware of?

If there is, nobody told me about it either... that's really strange

 100th anniversary game

Ahhhhh yes, to celebrate the century old tradition of Carolina hockey.

You are correct - they won 3-2. And... were strangely enough leading almost the entire game. (They never fell behind)
Crazytown. Who knew?

It would seem the poster to the RSU page doesn't do much research. Laliberté is the founder of Cirque, but Andre Desmarais is from the family that founded and owns Power Corp, a very rich family and enterprise. If I recall correctly, both were involved in the "other bid" for Lebreton -- this could get interesting.

Latest sale rumours. (from RSU facebook page)

"the buying group has already paid down a huge chunk of Melnyks debt and the purchase of the team is going through final stages...Also heard that Alfie is involved and is going to be the face of the buying group...and the group is apparently led by Guy Laliberte and Andre Demarais (the Cirque du Soleil guys)"

Seeing on Twitter from a few Sens bloggers etc that there may be ownership changes coming?? Anyone there in Ottawa know anything?

There are rumours that Melnyk is looking for one or more investors with big money to help finance the Lebreton Flats development. Could involve becoming part owner(s) of the hockey club.
