What the department of player safety meant to say when suspending Brad Marchand: “Now that the Bruins have clinched a playoff spot, we’re going to do them a favour by resting one of their best players for two meaningless games.” Nice of the department, wasn’t it?
more like,
"because he's not Crosby, he will be suspended 2 games."

I hate the loser point too. Either get rid of it or make a win worth 3. They did it originally so teams wouldn't play for a tie. But now with the SO there are no ties anymore anyway.
Lou Lamoriello wants to get rid of the loser point, which his team is leading the league with 14 to date in 64 games. That's one loser point every 4.5 games.
Hate to say it, but I agree with him. Or at least make all games worth 3 points. 3 points for a regulation win, 2 for an OT/SO win and the leaf point for losing in OT/SO
Pees me off that Milan Michalek is stuck playing in the minors because the lafs want to dump salary. Should be some of rule that allows a veteran player to become a free agent if the team won't play him. Surprised the union allows this.
