I've done two separate not-quite-deep-but-more-than-superficial dives this week...

Eww, the EDM stuff is even grosser. After telling a friend that McDavid wasn't the good guy she thought he was, she wanted to "see an actual interview with him" because she was skeptical of "the internet" (which is a separate irony in and of itself but that's for another time)...and, oh yeah, he literally said that Bab****'s style is what they want, because they want to "be pushed". A couple of things on that...1) after proclaiming himself as one the best hockey players in the world in the same article my question is, you can't muster enough self-motivation? and 2) "tough love" can be good, but that is NOT what Bab**** does. Some players *will* be motivated from a near-bullying approach, others will be completely demoralized by it. So, yeah, **** EDM again in this and future years. At least they are consolidating evil so if I do another donation round in playoffs I'm not going broke by having evil dispersed throughout the league.

Two, my previous comments about wondering if Alfie's move was a true promotion are coming home to roost so I can't be **too** mad at him. Either I dismissed it at the time or didn't notice it but I saw it on the game notes for tomorrow's game and looked into the difference between Associate Coach and Assistant Coach. And that led to a bunch of articles about him really wanting to make coaching his second act, that he actually interviewed for the HEAD coaching job in TOR, and that Associate is a clear promotion. That said, if he helps their PP too much, I will have no problem booing him for THAT.

Eww, same "Sens Blue Line Banged Up" interview with MJ, ended talking about how much influence the senior EDM players had in bringing in Bab****.

Bottom line summary: Can you imagine being a 4th liner player who's getting bullied by Bab**** and you can't even go to *ANY* of your captains because they all signed off on this and wanted this in the locker room.

If you haven't heard Messier's comment on the bab**** hiring, look them up.

Wait... You mean this was just lip service?!

“For more than the last two and a half years, these individuals have been ineligible to work for any NHL team as a result of their inadequate response upon being informed in 2010 of allegations that Blackhawks’ player Kyle Beach had been assaulted by the club’s video coach,” the league said, “While it is clear that, at the time, their responses were unacceptable, each of these three individuals ... has acknowledged that and used his time away from the game to engage in activities which not only demonstrate sincere remorse for what happened, but also evidence greater awareness of the responsibilities that all NHL personnel have, particularly personnel who are in positions of leadership.”

Leo Carlsson is the highest paid player in the NHL. 🤯 I have…opinions…about a 21yo getting paid $60m in salary and signing bonuses in a single year.

Not sure how I feel about this. I really like Bob. I want him to suck against OTT.

If the leafs get good goal tending they could be back to where they were a couple of years ago. They've also picked up a few other players that should help them.

FLA signed 36yo Gudas to 6 years. I hope that long-term for 35+ player rule comes back to bite them.

Probably not, but a girl can hope.

Also, TSN panel asked to pick the duo they're most looking forward to seeing next season. MJ went with Tk-bros in FLA. Said seeing them run around every night together is going to be entertaining for sure, whether or not it's effective is a different story. lol

Bab**** deal finalized 🤮

So, EDM, ANA, FLA at the top of the "always cheering against" list.

And after hearing about CAR's "blue collar presses"...I think I'm in love with Rod B. (learning how to spell his last name without looking it up is probably a truer sign of love). I've never held so little animosity for the team that kicked my team out of the playoffs before. lol

Oh you're gonna love this.

Brind'Amour

Brin in French means a strand (basically a small piece of, or a bit of depending on context)

Amour is of course Love.

So what you're saying is you have a bit of love for Brind'Amour?  lol

He's from Ottawa, maybe someday he'll want to coach his hometown.

omg, you're right, I totally love that! And that will also help me remember where the damn apostrophe is. 😂
