Yet, Montreal, Chicago and Nashville are still below them in league wide standings.

The Ducks traded Cam Fowler. 9 games shy of 1000. For a bag of pucks.

And Joey Daccord is standing on his head in Seattle.

Still a lube shortage for sens fans.

If you haven't seen it, check out the tribute the Blue Jackets did for Gaudreau tonight. Special.

Ha, I mentioned the late season opener in the Sens game thread...

Ducks are literally the last team to start this season.

As further evidence of just how out of the loop I am…Ducks starting goalie went out with an emergency appendectomy 2 weeks ago, out for up to another 4. I don't imagine I'll be sticking around for the whole season opener tonight.

On the flip side, for as fast as September went by…it's shaping up to be a looooooooonnnnnnngggggg season.

Too many things going on. The drop shadow numbers on the arms are just weird. The mask logo is very busy (but awesome) and there are too many stripes on the whole kit competing for busyness.

Patrick Alvin General manager of the Vancouver Canucks just had the proudest day of his life when he traded for Eric Brannstrom. A fourth round pick and all important cap space (Poolman) traded back to Colorado.
Did anyone on here think he improved at all?

Wow, shocking news of Johnny Gaudreau has passed at age 31 along with his brother.

No details as of yet, but holy crap.

Reports are that it was s drunk driver who hit the brothers while they were cycling.

Seems like the DUI driver was overtaking two cars, and 2nd one had moved left to safely past Johnny and his brother.  The DIU driver attempted to pass the 2nd car on the right and struck them from behind.  Drunk driver was probably speeding to be driving so erratically.

Johnny and his brother were in the area for his sister's wedding in Philadelphia today.  Devastating for the family on what should have been a celebration.

Sad news. Good player. Never understood why he went to Columbus.

Horribly sad - He wanted to be closer to his family in the states. New Jersey didn’t have any room for him and his salary and he chose Columbus. We have to remember that almost every team is up against the cap and has been for years and he was due a huge salary
