What the bleedin 'ell.....this was supposed to be a seven game series and now it's been cut down to a five gamer? I really wanted to see two more games this season. I feel gyped.

that's a great definition to fancy stats--so if you have the puck more and shoot more and defend better you Win!! usually.

Fancy stats have some carry, but aren't the be all/end all. Granted with Fenwick, yes the teams that tend to shoot more on net and try to shoot on net more frequently than the opposition tends to win. With the shots come the goals.

@RobertJFTC: In the #fancystats era, 4 teams have finished the season with a Fenwick > 56%. 3 won the Cup (including LA this year) & 1 lost in the Final.

With the season officially over, the rumour mongering over Spezza will now go into high gear, with the haters singing harmony to it that he has to go and it doesn't matter what comes back.......only to then criticize GMBM no matter what comes back as being a bad trade that "anyone could have done better" and that he should now be gone too. disbeliefno

 If you are referring to the image with the horizontal control problem, NBC was looking like that too, at least on the cable feed of the pub I was at.

Justin Williams is 32 years old, has one year left on his deal, makes $3.65M and just won the Conn Smythe award as well as the Stanley Cup.   I think I can hear the Brinks truck backing up to his house from here.
