To bad. The junior tournament is my favourite hockey of the year. Maybe they can re-schedule it in the summer.

 They did

 Did anyone notice?

The last period of the final was pretty intense.

Never would have guessed this 🤦‍♂️😱

Are the tournament logistics run by IIHF or Hockey Canada?

Looks like that's it, the WJC is being cancelled.

From Twitter:   “One staff member on a European team in same hotel as USA in Red Deer calls the current covid protocols and lack of isolation from the community "ridiculous", saying they've come into contact with said wedding guests.”

You can be pretty confident that wedding guests were not wearing masks the whole time

Russia and Czechia had to forfeit their games today today on top of USA forfeiting theirs yesterday.

Other USA team members had to pass two tests (yesterday and today) before they would have been allowed to play.  Not sure what the status of that was.

With three teams down it's probably a given that others will test positive in the next day or two.

Two teams in group B (Red Deer) and one in Group A (Edmonton), so it's not just a site outbreak.

It's for the best.

Sorry folks, I fell asleep. It seems it was a blowout game, but I hope it was at least entertaining as we may not have much NHL hockey to watch for the next while.

My final card in this 11-2 Canada win.

I could have used a little LUBE! or a player in the net instead of the puck.

Off the crossbar, that's three dings for Canada.

I need an off the post in.

13 goals scored so far, you'd think there would have been one.

Or Austria hits post. That'll work too.

Another post for Canada, but out.

When I see that commercial about the kid with artificial legs, I think back to a kid who played nets for us when we were kids. He wore leg braces because of polio and played in boots.

USA had to forfeit their game against Switzerland Tuesday evening due to covid protocol. Two of their players tested positive.

I wonder how separated all the teams are in hotels.  Teams can be on different floors, but building ventilation is still shared.  Maybe they have filters in each room and hallway?

In other news. Brad Marchand speaks out against the NHL for pulling out of the Olympics. Calls it complete BS.

His privilege is showing.

Agree 💯 Especially about Marchand, bummer about US squad and Covid

What's the awarded score on a forfeited win?  1-0?  That could potentially come into play in the standings if goal differential comes into play.
