Are the Habs and Bolts the only teams whose nickname is not simply a shortening of their (English) full name?

Yeah, I'm skewing anglocentric on this observation, please don't send the French mafia after me.

Habs actually has nothing to do with the French shortening either, so you are good!

ummm.... yes, I think they are.  I can't think of any others anyway.

Oh, damn, I've had the French name wrong in my head this whole time.

Les Habitants is actually the full nickname that Habs comes from.... but it's just another weird nickname

I knew that Les Habitants --> Habs, but for some reason I had it in my head that the full French name was "Les Habitants de Montreal".

Yes, in hindsight, I see how dumb this is and am mildly embarrassed. no

Nah, don't feel bad, I think a lot of people think that.  It's fairly logical since "Habs" is used so much more than "Canadiens"

The amount of metal surfaces that sound like posts being hit is kinda crazy. Some arenas are definitely worse than others.

Speaking of metal, I just realized today that the nose bridge of my glasses is magnetized. Is Bill Gates tracking me?

Yes, but your cell reception should be much improved so it all balances out.
