interesting question I just saw on twitter, for intermission fun.
What's the first major news story you remember?
Probably the Challenger explosion. I'm sure I would remember a few others too, but that one stands out.
Got back home after a morning exam for that one and that's what was on the news.
I was home sick from school that day. I was watching the coverage with my mother when it happened.
ARE YOU F-ING KIDDING ME?!?!?
I was sent home sick from school that day. The receptionist in the office told my dad when he came to pick me up, he'd been working outside all morning.
Was working in Florida at the time calling on Air Force bases and walked into the base exchange and all the ladies working there were extremely upset and crying. I was amazed when I moved there that so many people took such pride that space ships were shot into space from Florida
geez tj.... you're old

Do we count deviations off the body like that? I forget. There was the chicken wing one from last week.
We counted 'em last year.
Dab it if you got it.

Actually though, and not just in an effort differentiate Cat from Kat, I do remember the 1984 Olympics pretty well.

Hey, I beat you by seconds, YOU stop that!

Jumbo TV remotes. Dime a dozen in US. In Canada $50 buck on Amazon. Amazon actually ships them from the US.
