No, the seats were covered before this, and yep - it's their thing.
That's impressive, to remove the (whatever those mass covers are called) to expose the seats *just* to cover them will towels. Though the few towels that have fallen off and the few that are askew may be moderately annoying to a perfectionist.
Just speculating on that last part.
