Cowen has made some nice heads up plays.... But I'm still nervous with him on the ice.

I think we were really spoiled for a lot of years. I mean... there were days when we had 8 natural centres playing on any given night.
I guess we have to get used to being a hard-working journeyman team instead of the flashy high-scoring team. Sigh.

That's true. (About 1st line centres) these are the crosbys, toews and seguins. But I feel like Turris is sort of set up to fail. He already produces but could do so much more. Maybe someday Lazar could play if we don't ruin him.

#1 centers are hard to come by in a trade (Seguin being a notable recent one), so they have to be drafted and the Sens haven't really tanked for one... But even that is no guarantee given the Edmonton's of the world.

Man if Spezza was still around center-ing that first line... Turris should really be 2nd line centre but who else do we have
Agree 100 per cent. Turris would be better off as the number 2 centre.

Yeah, we're definitely still missing a forward with that flash and skill we got so used to seeing....

Even Spezza was money on these breakaways. Oddly, none of the Sens have tried to deke, all chose to shoot.

Sens lack that natural goal scorer who can put the puck in the net when they get a chance. Alfie was pretty good but really haven't had one since Heatly left.
Which I guess is that elusive top 6 forward that Murray keeps talking about - Ryan was supposed to be that guy.

The Senator's fan in me is ecstatic about the game. The Jets fan in me is very, very worried.
