I'd take one from Smilin' Jack -- at least he's pouring Ex, not Canadian. I'd give her something, rather than take something. ;)

Both are obviously feeble-minded and it would be wrong to take from them.

I think the reason the trade was made was because (a) the Horton contract wasn't insured, but also (b) Columbus doesn't spend to the cap so they couldn't put him on LTIR and get cap relief for it. If insurance will cover the 'injury time', that will be a benefit to the Jackets.

Actually wouldn't his contract be insured, so Columbus essentially got Horton and Clarkson off the books for the season?

CBJ lose RW David Clarkson for 4-6 weeks -- likely the rest of the season -- with a torn oblique.
Of course they did.
queue the maniacal laughter from MLSE in 3....2....1.......and go!

The Bruins acquired Brett Connelly at the trade deadline. He's now out 4-6 weeks with a displaced broken finger.
Bad news for the Bruins, but good news for teams chasing them for a wildcard spot.
so is Vancouver now the Cup favorites with the acquisition of Cory Conacher? who knew he was even still in the league? I sure didn't
He isn't, really. He started the season with the Islanders but only played 15 games before being sent to Bridgeport of the AHL. He's moving to Utica of the AHL, not Vancouver of the NHL. His contract is up at the end of this season.
Thx Kardinal

Looks like Phaneuf is suing his bosses. This could be interesting.

I did watch this yesterday morning...it was a quite frank interview..it seems that the link is no longer active...to sum it up.."I cheer for the other team playing against the Leafs, I wish all the players as individuals success, I hope Kessel and Phaneuf and the rest well, but I hope the team itself doesn't win"
Then when he was asked about other teams that he coached for.."Do you feel the same about Anaheim, San Jose, or Washington?"..."no, just the Leafs"...

The ALL STAR Dany Heatley has been traded from ANA to FLA. He will be heading straight to the FLA AHL team, as he's been on the Ducks' AHL team for a while now.
FLA traded pending UFA Tomas Fleischmann to ANA for 2015-3rd and Dany Heatley. I read that as "we want the pick but we need to send you an NHL contract to keep our roster size the same, so here's something cheap and useless that will be done at the end of the season". He's been "done" for longer than that. ;)
Crap! That's jack leighton! Didn't even notice.

Glad Chicago got him and not Boston.
