Mexico City isn't far enough, as the NHL would still give them 7pm Eastern time starts. I'm thinking it is time for the European expansion of the NHL.....move them to Prague.
I have to give credit where credit is due: this is hilarious idea. It would be like us starting a campaign to buy the Leafs.
Hmmm......DONATE TO THE SHOW!!

He was also apparently at the Kings workout facility for a "work release" program. Don't think he's getting paid because of the NHL suspension though.
From an article
The NHL suspended him with pay after the arrest. In late June, the Kings suspended Voynov without pay after he tore his Achilles' tendon in a non-hockey incident.
and also
“In removal proceedings, if they leave the country, they generally would not be let back in,” Chadwick said.
So, if for any reason the NHL decides to lift his suspension, he won't be able to travel with the team to Canada.
What a mess, but I have no pity for him for what he did. I wonder how this affects the Mike Richards ordeal. The Kings terminate his contract over his situation, but Voynov is only suspended.
Back around 1990, Bob Probert got caught smuggling drugs while a member of the Red Wings. He wasn't able to travel to any games or visit family outside the US or he would not have been allowed back into the US.

Hmm, didn't know that the Kings had finally suspended his pay...
But the NHL suspension was with pay, so he was collecting his salary up until June, anyway.
This case is one of the reasons that a lot of people were upset with the way they handled the Richards situation. Terminated one contract over bringing some pills across the border.... but keep the other, continue to pay him, and even break the NHL suspension terms by letting him play with the team after he ADMITTED to beating his wife.

I mentioned to Kardinal the other day, i bet you could have one hell of a party with Jarret Stoll, Mike Richards, Tyler Seguin and Patrick Kane. You may get 20 years for it, but still.....

So apparently a number of teams have contacted Chicago about the possibility of obtaining Patrick Kane. Really. The guy is being investigated for possible rape and teams are trying to trade for him? Makes you wonder how low some teams will stoop to get a good player.
if Charley Manson could hit a curveball and play 2B, people would say Charley had a few problems but he's in the best shape of his life and has moved past those mistakes he made.

and, apparently Tyler Seguin isn't quite done with his partying ways. His neighbours have had enough of him.

I think it was on the radio that I heard this last week, but it was a discussion on the fact that someone had posted a list of 60, six-zero, players who made more than $1M last season but who did not have a contract for the upcoming one. I find that number more than a bit surprising, as it doesn't include the 4th line / 3rd pairing/entry-level-but-didn't-work-out guys.
Carks has a PTO with the Islanders.
Setoguchi has one with the Leafs.
Havlat might have one with the Senators.
This could be an interesting pre-season in terms of players who are much younger than those looking for their 'last contract' in years past but are still hoping to play somewhere. It seems the average age of a team is going down.

Someone must have got the score wrong; not even the Mets suck bad enough to get pasted by the Screaming Trees. After all, the Mets are in a playoff spot (at least, for now).

I guess the Mets are so bad even the Leafs can beat them!
then let Trump build his wall.
Buy them and move them to Mexico City.
Flyers blog starts a GoFundMe campaign to buy the Penguins

I was reading the Sun today, and even that rag-of-a-newspaper had it right:
Bab****: autocrat, used to getting his own way
Lemaire: autocrat, used to getting his own way
Lamoriello: autocrat, used to getting his own way
This should be an interesting social study in "cooperation". Or implosion. Only time will tell.
apparently, no one in T.O. has ever heard of the expression "too many cooks".
