It seems MTL doesn't have to worry about being called for goalie interference or diving, so if a team is going to save their timeout for a coach's challenge it had better be for a missed offside call.

Thought of another angle regarding the coach's challenge today. You have to have a time out to call one. If you use your time out early in game, the other team knows you cannot challenge now. So, will they take more chances running the goalie, knowing it can't be reviewed? (Mtl).

I'm absolutely positive that if Chris Neil were involved in that play it would have counted for Ottawa too.....

Of course they did.
But if it was someone doing that to Cary Price, it'd be 2-10-game and probably a 10 game suspension as well.
Looks good on them but still think they should have to pay him his regular salary every year. They screwed up and they should have to stick to the contract.

There is a team in the NHL that is using Jordan TooToo on their first team power-play if you know which team this is without looking it up you are a NHL savant. I was going to make fun of this but he actually scored on the power play I was watching, it was an assist but he got a point.
Detroit has trouble in Carolina too
Can anyone guess what team TooToo is even on now?

Finally......appropriate clothing for the mouth-breathing troglodytes better known as Leafers: the NHL "hands high" collection. They can now put their affection for their armpit-of-a-team exactly where it belongs.
No, this is not a Photochop.

Actually, you celebrate Thanksgiving late. The first one in North America was by Martin Frobisher in 1578 in Newfoundland; it wasn't until 1621 that the Mayflower pilgrims had one at Plymouth. ;)
ok, now you're really showing your age

I'm really hoping that Ian was just playing devil's advocate; he did Tweet earlier today that it was going to be a topic of discussion on the pre-game show today.
The talk today is that the Bruins might be shopping Marchand and/or Chara. Mendes is on the radio advocating going for Chara, even as far as a 1st round pick and a Puempel/Prince level asset.
Chara is 38, has this season and two more on his contract. Cap hits of $6.9M, $6.9M, $4M, real money remaining is $7M, $5M, $4M.
I'd take Chara of 3 years ago, but not now. No. Way. Jose.
did Ian get into Simmers pinot?

Chara missed the 1st two games of the season and missed some 20 games last season. I wouldn't take the gamble with 3 years left on his contract. He's a declining asset and his ability to stay healthy enough to play for 3 more season is in doubt.

It's nothing but #Montrealtypical stuff from the league.

Good: Leafs named "the worst team in pro sports".
Better: it is actually "named the worst team in pro sports...........AGAIN"
Best: To be completely accurate, it's "named the worst team in pro sports......for the second year in a row".
Another proud moment in lafs history.

Marchand is out indefinitely with a concussion
