Canada is pulling it's athletes out of the Olympics unless they are postponed until later. I think the Japanese Olympic organizers are living in a state of denial if they think the games will be still be held in July.

If it wasn't so deadly to certain groups of vulnerable people it would just be 'a bad flu season'. I have pretty bad asthma so I'm probably one of the people 'at risk'. My dad is also in a nursing home with severe dementia and other health issues and now they're on lockdown but if any of them get it there he's toast. He already just got over shingles.
My father has major breathing issues, my mom is good but they are both in their mid-80s and staying as isolated as they can. My fishing partner has breathing issues too, so she’s isolated (I saw her briefly, at a distance, a few days ago. Meanwhile, people are shopping for “things to do while I am isolated”. Ummm, if you are out shopping, you aren’t isolated.
With spring break travellers returning and university residences emptying, we are going to see an explosion of cases in previously untouched areas in the next two weeks.

Interesting fact I heard this morning, as many as 80 per cent of the people who get the Corona virus won't even know they had it. But they can still spread it to other people.
As in, no signs of sickness at all?
TSN were showing a clip of an interview with a basket ball player who is a team mate of the first player that got sick. He would not have had any idea he had the virus if they had not tested the whole team. And a doctor said that many people, especially younger people, may have few if any symptoms at all.
A couple of nights ago on the news, a spokes lady with the city was advising that even if you don't feel sick, it's important to try and stay away from other people because you could be carrying the bug and not even know it.

I'm not going to lie, as soon as the NHL suspended their season, sh*t here got real really fast and like dominos everything is started to close/cancel, etc. All my rec leagues gone.. swimming lessons.. school.. and it's still very much winter here. Makes... the coming weeks potentially very sucky but it's hard to complain at an inconvenience when people could be dying.
A powerful message of hope in Italy. Frecce Tricolori performs to Pavarotti’s signature piece at the moment when he sings “we will overcome” (watch a clip of him sing the whole thing if you want some shivers) by having 9 aircraft paint an Italian flag over a single aircraft playing the role of the virus:
flypast of victory
