I liked the quote I saw on twitter today.... that his new $5M deal is a good one "if he turns out to be what Toronto thinks he is"
When was the last time a player became "what Toronto thought he was"?? In Toronto, anyway?
all that is true Russell and SensKat, BUT that crew down the road from you guys has actual GM's and Mgt. people in place who have won Stanley Cups and built consistent winners. I hope you guys are right is all I can say
I would say that they may have a GM who has won Stanley Cups and USED to be able to build winners... but when was the last time NJ was actually a relevant or competitive team?
As much as I want to agree with you Kat they did go to the Cup finals with DeBoer as their coach just a couple of years ago and then they lost the star who signed in Minnesota and that was the end of the NJDevils as Lou knew them. He built and sustained and then they lost stars and sucked and actually rebuilt to a Cup contender. I hate the Leafs don't get me wrong but that guy has done a lot over time, also couldn't stand the damned Devils.
Lou's success in NJ can be tied up in one word: Brodeur.

And, in lafsville, he has more money than he knows what to do with. And they have arguably the best coach in the league.
I don't like it.

Jonathan Bernier
James Reimer
Ben Scrivens
J.S. Giguere
Drew MacIntyre
Joey MacDonald
Jussi Rynnas
Justin Pogge
Vesa Toskala

Andersen might be an improvement and I've been reading / hearing that the hope is that he will "give their D confidence in their own zone". Isn't that what Bernier was supposed to do?

The team will still have the same constant. Their relentless fans and media who put so much pressure on the players that many crumble. They should build this giant microscope monument in Toronto.

Not exactly about other teams but, looks like Strombo is out at HNIC/Rogers and Ron McLean will replace him. Not sure what took them two years to realize how bad he was. Good start Rogers but a few others need to go.

it sure sounds like Stamkos is going to end back up in Senators division:
Tampa for sure has a shot
Toronto and Buffalo have legit shots and the wildcard in all this is Detroit with a little Montreal involved.
Question is since it sounds like the Sens have Zero shot where do u guys want him to land?
I for damn sure don't want him in Detroit or Toronto

Best thing that could happen to him. He gets out of Toronto and he can try and find a team who might sign him. Think it's going to be a rude awakening for when he negotiates a new contract. Might be the kick in the ass he needs to get his career back on track.
