Does anybody here care about this World Cup of Hockey? It's contrived and stupid in my opinion and just a way to get players hurt on your favorite teams and for what? If Karlsson hurts his knee and is out for months WTF does that do for Ottawa?
Who thought this stupid stuff up? Bettman and his cronies for sure I know, just asinine.

If I'm an Edmonton fan and that's all I got for Taylor Hall I'd be really PO'd.
Oh yeah I have no idea why Chiarelli wanted to sign Lucic so badly that he'd get rid of Taylor Hall for nothing to coax him over. My brother who's an Oilers fan is super depressed.
Reminds me when we got Chiasson for Spezza.. lol
In other news - Vancouver signed Loui Eriksson? WHAAA??? A Canadian team actually grabbed someone decent? Since when!?
i think it was more like being able to sign lucic made it easier to trade hall for the D man they needed.
Can anyone tell me why signing an aging 3rd liner like Lucic (for more money than they were paying Hall) was considered more valuable then giving away a franchise 1st liner like Taylor Hall?
Well for one thing, as good as Hall is, they have 297,000 players in their system right now just like him.... small, skilled forwards that don't backcheck, don't ever go into the dirty areas, and disappear down the stretch.
2nd, Hall has never yet played a full season... he's VERY injury prone.
Lucic is aging? He's 28. And he is EXACTLY what that team has been missing. They started last year by bringing in Kassian and Maroon... with the Lucic signing, the Oilers just gained a huge amount of attitude, and became much harder to play against. Nobody was afraid to play them, there were never any consequences to targeting and injuring their star players.
They essentially traded Hall to bolster the back end (something they have been desperately needing for years), and now able to sign a big, tough, gritty forward to buy a player like McDavid some room on the ice.
While the return may have been less than what many Oilers fans wanted to fantasize that Hall was worth, the Oilers just became a much better team all around.

Lehner's ankle still not ready to go. Won't be playing in World Cup

I still hate the Ducks
Hey wait, isn't that Brendan Gallagher
Vermette signed with the Ducks for 2 years at $1.75M per.
Habs player, in front of other team's net.

Patrick Roy resigns as coach in Colorado.

Can't say I'm sorry to see him go. Guys a jerk.
hmmm..... that's cause he's old (at least for being good at hockey)
Something odd today. ARIZ has put Antoine Vermette on waivers for purpose of buyout.
hmmm..... that's odd
A take on the Subban trade
a part of me wants Nashville to win the Cup next season (after Ottawa of course), just to stick it to Habs fans. it would be Kessel/Leafs 2.0
