Very happy to see this deal done. Smith is one of those guys that can fill a number of different roles. Players like Smith are often undervalued so glad to see the Sens recognize his importance to the team.

Sens sign Smith to 4-year, $13M extension
and some of you were talking 4-4.5 / year. 3.25 is a good deal for a consistent hard worker who produces.

Sorry for Grizz but I really believe it would be best for him to step away from the game. Still has a lot of life to enjoy. It is probably good for the Sens as well as they can now go out and try and get the winger they need.
Such a shame. The guy played the game the right way.

Also, Andy expected back around the end of the month for the rest of the season. I am actually incredibly excited to finally have a strong, reliable goaltending duo.
Strong case for Condon being the team's MVP so far this year.

It's sad, but I'm fairly sure we were all expecting it.
You were a hell of a player for us Grizz, but it's time.

Dorion announces that Clarke MacArthur will not play this season.
He should really consider hanging them up while he still can live a normal life.

Got to admit that Condon was a great pickup. He's been keeping us in the playoff contention.

His numbers are pretty close to Anderson. Overall the team has been playing better defensively though, shots allowed have gone down. Let's hope they keep that up when Anderson comes back. Don't want them to think that because he's back, they don't need to be responsible defensively as much.

Jani Hurme?
If you really want to scrape the bottom of the barrel, how about Mathieu Chouinard. He was drafted twice by the Sens (15th in 1998 and 45th in 2000), but never played a game for them. He's due
he's certainly should be warmed up by now.

Do the Sens need to shop around for another goalie?
http://ottawacitizen.com/sports/hockey/nhl/senatorsextra/senators-goaltender-andrew-hammond-could-be-out-for-months
When he's traded to toronto or one of the other "golden boy" franchises.
When will Andy get the recognotion as a top goalie in the league, like he deserves?
Another major earthquake in Shanghai's part of the world. Hope it didn't wake him up.
