Would you like to see Stone on the Canadian World Cup team or have him rested for the season? I wonder how many players will end up burned out towards the end of next season.
At this point my vote would be for him to go, if for no other reason than to get him some exposure to a coaching staff that knows what they are doing...

Just found out today about the new NHL draft lottery rules.
The three top picks are up for grabs.
Three draws will be held: the 1st Lottery draw will determine the Club selecting first overall, the 2nd Lottery draw will determine the Club selecting second overall and the 3rd Lottery draw will determine the club selecting third overall.
As a result of this change, the team earning the fewest points during the regular season will no longer be guaranteed, at worst, the second overall pick. That club could fall as low as fourth overall.
Imagine the leafs finishing last and losing all three draws, picking 4th and Sens winning one of those 3 picks.
Oh, you didn't know that? Yeah, it's one of the things that is supposed to help prevent the deliberate tank efforts.... no guarantee of picking in the top 3. In fact, James Duthie tweeted out the numbers a little while ago, and the odds of dropping to 4th are actually higher than the combined odds of winning one of the lotteries.
There is talk about going even further with it, but this is a good start.
Any team that tanks on purpose should lose their first round pick or at least be moved down the order to at least 10th pick.

Usually the problem has been proving it. Last year, Buffalo and Toronto were pretty blatant about it... although with McDavid as the prize, it's somewhat understandable. But I do think they need to do more to prevent it.

But it's the leafs, they've pretty much redefined choking in past few years
It's some beautiful irony. I got a huge amount of enjoyment out of the reaction from the leafers when Edmonton won the lottery last year... if they miss out again this year, and especially if the Sens were to get in there WITHOUT deliberately tanking.... it would make my year.

This is it. The final stretch, 12 games remaining, 24 points up for grabs, we can finish the season with 96 points.
8th place Detroit is on pace to finish with 94 points.
3-2 Sens - Ryan with the winner
Just tuned in and saw the St. Patty's Day jerseys. Gonna have to change my GWG to O'Ryan
