Oilers have cancelled their practice today. More news expected.
Ian Mendes from Twitter: “Ugh. I don’t have a great feeling about that Sens-Oilers game tomorrow.”
DJ Smith said that if they're getting on a plane to Edmonton, they're playing. Well they were skating in Edmonton earlier today, so who knows.
14 teams have 35 or more games played. Sens played 29, Islanders 28.
Just refreshed the Sens' game calendar and looks like the Edmonton game was pushed to Jan 15th, which was when the Winnipeg game was supposed to be. Strangely though, Winnipeg game is still listed on that day as PPD and both listed as Exhibition. I guess exhibition games is the only way to list two games on the same day (split squad?)

The be clear, games are being cancelled, not for the safety of players and fans, but only because the provincial governments have imposed restrictions on attendance, so it would hurt the real bottom line.

This is getting crazy. How are they going to make up this many games?

I just checked to see if I need to start a game thread or not. I guess not.
Game vs Winnipeg on the 15th is also postponed.
So far the two Alberta games are still on. Monday in Edmonton and Thursday in Calgary.

Actual hockey news 📰 about the Sens
Bruce Garrioch from Twitter: Dorion says he will meet with Kuzmenko’s agent in the coming days. Lots of interest but #Sens have a good shot.
Kuzmenko is a 25-year-old left wing (right shot) playing in the KHL. He has 52 points through 42 games this season. Would be a nice addition for Ottawa.
If he’s anything like Zub this could really help. If this happens and he’s productive they would be 2 for 2 scouting Russia 🇷🇺 professionals unlike the 0-26 record scouting NHL professionals

Our restrictions are a literal sh** show. No games because gathering sizes are "limited" to 250 people, kids are off school an extra week but can still go to their sports!! My sports are still on! ....I won't be going but I feel like a jerk for not going even though it's for my health and the health of my unvaccinated 3 yr old.

Seattle game postponed.....
I'm guessing that the league will need to decide by Thursday if the game in Vancouver is still on or not. Whole western trip might be postponed.
Ontario government announced new restrictions today. Pretty much back down to stage 2. Not sure of what the restrictions are in western provinces.
So Chabot, Sanford, and Tierney, plus assistant coach Bob Jones officially in protocol today. 8 players and 1 coach in the last 4 days. Here we go again.....

Tierney and Chabot going on C-19 list today, are u guys in Ottawa really having this much of a widespread problem in Ottawa thru the general population?
Just under 6,000 cases reported in last 7 days. Rapid antigen tests don't count, only PCR tests which you can't get unless you're a health worker/first responder. RATs themselves are nearly impossible to get. So actual numbers are much higher.
Cases are higher than they ever been, but hospital count is lower so far, but haven't peaked. Hoping that level of vaccination is helping. We've only started to vaccinate 5-12 age group at the end of November. We're not far from being out of the woods yet by far.
Ontario is sending kids back to school on the 5th and at the same time will stop collecting case numbers from school boards. So they're basically burying their heads in the sand.

Or Kansas, Dorothy.
You guys sure aren’t in Florida or Texas or Arizona or even California
Now that phrase is fitting
Del Boca Vista is hilarious 🤣
