It's one of those things. Some guys really tear it up in juniors/ahl but just can't take that extra step... whether it be in ability or worksmanship to improve their game. I think he thought he deserved to be a top-liner right away instead of really working on his game or maybe he just doesn't have the game-sense for it. Agreed that it's a shame.
