DeBrincat has agreed to an extension with Detroit. Hearing 4-years, $7.875M AAV range.
Dorion managed to do what I never can: get rid of a cat.

Sens sent #7 overall a 2nd and a 4th all in top 12 of each round and Sens get a 28 year old season from Kubalík a 3rd liner at best. A first in the late 20’s from Boston thru Detroit, Yzerman just running rings around Dorian and don’t forget a 4th round pick. How does he still have this job?

Was chatting with Kards earlier about Tarasenko. Do we really want him? Does he fit? How does he help the team? Does he have anything left?
WHO KNOWS!?
cuz we didn't.

Joonas Korpisalo is a Sens Goalie - 5 years at 4m average. Thoughts? It looks from the picture on Twitter he was with the Kings. If he's truly a good Goalie why is a young upcoming club way ahead of the Senators letting him walk for nothing?

From Hockey Reference: 3.06 GAA and .903 save % for his career. Almost all with Columbus. With LA was 7-3-1 2.13 and .921 in 11 games with a good club but a super small sample size to be giving a 5 year contract in my opinion. In a 8 year career he's had 3 shutouts which seems to me not very many. Not good numbers, and blaming everything on Columbus isn't smart. They had some good teams in the last 8 years.
I'm guessing the contract was the price they had to pay to get him. TSN guys said he had double hip surgery before last year (he had hip problems during his time in CLB) and had a great year because of it. So sens are betting on last year being the real korpisalo. Hey, if it doesn't work out, we'll just dump him on the leafs.
If he doesn't work out, they can always send him to the leafs.
that's funny cause it's true

Hamonic re-signs for 2 years. Good signing. He and Watson blocked about 75% of the shots last year. He's valuable in those close games.
1 too many years for an older player, not good business. 1 year woulda been all for it

Re: Debrinbcat. When thinking of giving him a big contract, let's now forget that Sanderson and Chychrun will both need contracts in a couple of years, and they won't be small ones.
Chychrun has got to stay healthy just once for a season, or at least play 80% of the games before giving him big NHL money. Sanderson is already the best D man on the squad, what a great pick. #7 overall and a 2nd for a disgruntled player is mind blowing.
