Not having that 1st Round pick next season is on top of all the other stupid stuff going on with the Senators is the ultimate F up. I was never on board w Duchene especially paying the extortion price for a guy who is talented but doesn't win or come thru in high leverage (playoff) situations. The Sens finished 30th with him and the Av's finished 31st with him. He's up to this point simply not a winning player. He's talented and all but his teams don't win, or if you blame all his teammates he sure doesn't lift the team or make anyone else better to lift the team.
He’s been to the playoffs twice, his rookie year and the year he played hurt in which the AVs massively overachieved under Roy. He has 6A in 8 games, not exactly a choke artist. A lottery pick that has played on terrible teams? I’m shocked that could happen.

I'm starting to believe this is going to happen unfortunately. I listen to bunches of podcasts from every NHL city and all the usual guys like Dreger and every guy has this as just fact that EK is being traded. Hoffman will be traded too in all likelyhood. Penny's on the Canadian dollar too for Hoffman.

Hoffman and date have denied anything connection with this. Gotta wait and see how it plays out but again, can't see how EK65's lawyers allow this to go forward without 100% proof.

BSN Colorado Avalanche podcast is absolutely giddy with all the upheaval in Ottawa, they even did a podcast thinking they could now get the #4 pick this year with the belief that Ottawa could be in danger of finishing at the bottom of NHL this coming season.
One day the Senators are actually going to have to put a team on the ice, my God look at the roster without Hoffman and Karlsson and it's a total downer. Stone and that winner Duchene are about it. Stone a RFA and Duchene a UFA next year it's a total and complete cluster----.
