I read this. It's kind of what I wondered - if players felt themselves a bit betrayed or bitter at being sent to Vegas because their clubs wouldn't protect them.. or just the impact of moving yourself across the country.

Sharks fans were happy to see Carpenter get cut AFTER DougWilson protected him in expansion draft since he sucked. But Vegas gets him and he turns into a real player somehow
