Laliberté is the founder of Cirque, but Andre Desmarais is from the family that founded and owns Power Corp, a very rich family and enterprise. If I recall correctly, both were involved in the "other bid" for Lebreton -- this could get interesting.

There are rumours that Melnyk is looking for one or more investors with big money to help finance the Lebreton Flats development. Could involve becoming part owner(s) of the hockey club.
Has anyone noticed how much our schedule sucks this season? So many back to back games and then like, 3-4 days off in the middle... no wonder we can't get any kind of rhythm going we don't even play at consistent intervals.
